Denver's outdated zoning code is being fixed.
The current code is a messy patchwork of fixes made over the past 52 years. The new code should be tidier and easier to read.
The Zoning Code Task Force was appointed by Mayor John Hickenlooper and the City Council President in 2005. The task force is made up of 16 members including neighborhood representatives, real estate brokers, architects, developers, historic preservationists and city and county staff and council members. The task force has consulted with the public and other experts throughout the process.
A public hearing will be held on April 21, with a final public hearing and vote by City Council scheduled for June 21.
