New COD Black ops 2 map pack and game modes coming soon

So if you haven't purchased the season pass for COD Black Ops 2, maybe this article will change your mind. Coming January 29 for XBOX 360 and a month later for PS3, the Revolution Map Pacl DLC is going to try its very hardest to convince you to spend more money.

The announcement came only a few days ago, but there are lots to get excited about.

With four new multi-player maps, Hydro, Downhill, Mirage, and Grind. And new maps for Zombie mode (Die Rise for example, a sky scraper map where you fight hordes of zombies trying to scale down the building level by level.) The dlc packs some punch.

But what do you really get?

For starters the new maps offer a lot to the gameplay. If you think maps should offer some element of risk then this is your chance. On Hydro alone, you will have to watch out for a sudden rush of water in the center of the map.

On Downhill, you have constantly moving ski lift cars circling the map. If you stand in the wrong spot as one makes its way through, well you get crushed.

However, that isn't really it. For Mirage and Grind, you also have to focus more on levels and sight lines. This is still true for the other two maps, but you will have sand dunes and houses, roof lines, and creases in between to keep an eye on.

Grind is a skate park. Its the first COD map where almost everything is on a curved surface. This should provide for exciting moments in competitive play.

But the biggest news is zombie mode coming to a very new type of gameplay. This new mode is called Turned.

With the launch coming later this month, you will soon be able to take on a horde of player controlled zombie vs on sole human survivor. In Turned you get points for surviving but if you are the player lucky and cunning enough to take down the human player, well you get to take a turn at trying to fight off the hordes. You rack up points for surviving and being the undead who caused the survivor to lose their spot.

But even that isn't all the news. For the first time in the series, the dlc comes with a new weapon. The Peacemaker is billed as a hybrid Assault Rifle/SMG. It look great and will be a nice addition to the arsenal in game.

This is a very good dlc that should provide a lot of gameplay and add to the value of this game, regardless of having to pay more to get it.

If you like where Treyarch is heading with this map pack, definately get the season pass. It will provide real savings over getting the maps separately.
