New co-host for WFLA based syndicated talker ‘Daytime’

Daytime”, the nationally syndicated late morning talk show based out of Tampa’s WFLA-TV, has a new co-host. Jerry Penacoli, who has been a correspondent for “Extra” for 13 years as well as a host on “E! Entertainment”, has been tapped for the new gig. Penacoli has also been a news anchor for KYW in Philadelphia and a host/producer at WTVJ in Miami. He began his broadcasting career in WJKS in Jacksonville as a reporter.

“I am very pleased to announce the addition of Jerry Penacoli to ‘Daytime,’ ” WFLA president and general manager Brad Moses said in a statement. “Our long standing relationship with ‘Extra’ and his frequent visits to guest host made him a staff and viewer favorite.”

“Daytime” is syndicated to over 130 markets in the United States.

Comedian Nick DiPaolo has left as co-host of the “Nick & Artie Show”. Artie Lange will go it alone as a solo host, for the time being and was scheduled to begin that stint Monday night.

On the show’s Facebook page is posted a statement that Nick DiPaolo is pursuing “some great opportunities” and the show becomes the Artie Lange show immediately.

The program airs on DirecTV’s Audience Network channel and is distributed to radio affiliates via Premiere Networks. It airs locally in Tampa Bay on WHPT “102.5 The Bone”.

Artie Lange was a long-time contributor to the Howard Stern show on both terrestrial and satellite radio. He has battled mental and physical health problems in recent years and resurfaced about a year ago with the
“Nick & Artie Show”.
