No one likes buddy comedies more than me but what about buddy horror? when you think of buddy horror the first movie that comes to mind is Shaun of The Dead. Even though its a comedy/horror what it shows is that two figures that aren't in love can carry an entire film well. In steps Resolution which is a polar opposite of the previously mentioned. Resolution is about a friend helping another through a drug dependency problem. Right away you can tell this is a different kind of tale. With something as serious as drug abuse you would think it would be hard to find a horror angle in this but directors Justin Benson and Aaron Scott Moorhead hit it right on.
“In an abandoned cabin on the edge of an Indian reservation, Mike (Peter Cilella) stages a risky intervention to force his friend Chris (Vinny Curran) off meth and into rehab. But what begins as an attempt to save his friend’s life takes an unexpected turn when ominous threats start appearing around the house – and they realize that Chris’s addictions are the least of their worries.”
I applaud the creators of this film for taking such a strong topic and putting a horror twist in it. The trailer is available online but I have a new clip for you to check out. Resolution is available now on VOD and also has a limited theater run. Resolution is directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Scott Moorhead, and stars Peter Cilella, Vinny Curran, Kurt David Anderson, Emily Montague, Skyler Meacham, and Zahn McClarnon.
