Inspired by her Twilight Princess and Super Smash Bros. Brawl design, the Super Smash Bros. 4 version of Zelda conveys a mature, yet regal look. You can find a handful of brand new screens showing off Zelda in our media gallery located at the top left of this article.

Masahiro Sakurai, director of Super Smash Bros., is very excited about having Zelda in the game and expresses great joy in having many female characters included in the game. Find his full comment below:

Pic of the day. To celebrate the launch of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds in Japan, Zelda joins the battle!! It's great to see so many female characters this time around.

Despite announcing Zelda as a member of the Super Smash Bros. 4 roster, Sakurai has not yet confirmed Sheik.

With the confirmation of Zelda now made, that brings the total roster count of Super Smash Bros. 4 up to 20. However, by looking at the official Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U and 3DS website, just 7 empty roster spots remain.

Super Smash Bros. 4 is scheduled for a 2014 release on Wii U and 3DS. Expect to more about the title in early 2014 and, hopefully, a release date around E3 2014.
