New champions crowned at NWA Texoma in Sherman

It was a wild night of action at the Sherman Elks Lodge on Saturday, as NWA Texoma rolled into town for a night of "Tag Team Madness." By the end of the night, they crowned the first ever set of NWA Texoma Tag Team Champions.

The show started with Team ATM making the surprising announcement that they had two entries for the night's tag team tournament, then vowed to leave with the gold. Mike Foxx said money can buy anything, as one of teams got paid and replaced by the team of Jerome Daniels and Big Tex. Foxx ended by saying, "First you get the gold, then you get the money...then you fly out."

The first tag match of the night Team ATM faced off with Team Electrifying Storm. Barrett Brown and Tim Storm picked up the win, in Barrett's first NWA Texoma match in over a year, to advance to the finals. The fans were more than happy to see him back in action, as Storm found a smart choice for a partner.

The ladies were in action next, as Bree Ann and Claudia stepped into the ring to determine the #1 contender to Barbi Hayden's NWA Texoma Rose Championship. Bree picked up the win to continue her streak, and now has her sights set on the title. Barbi will have her hands full in April as they will now face off for the gold.

With one spot remaining for the main event and a shot at the tag team titles, Mike Foxx and Byron Wilcott hit the ring to redeem ATM's earlier loss. They would face off against the Rock Star Mafia in a match fans that featured two of the top teams at NWA Texoma. The Mafia has been a force since Armani joined force with Dane Griffin, and ATM has been terrorizing the state of Texas ever since Foxx was revealed as the other half of the original ATM. In the end, it was Foxx and Wilcott that prevailed to advance to the finals against Barrett and Storm.

A number of fans have been questioning the whereabouts of Chris Stevens lately, after being put on the shelf at the hands of ATM. On Saturday night, Stevens made his return to face Carrior Arcane. This was a tremendous match that featured a lot of offense from both men, until Claudia came in and attacked Stevens. It earned an immediate disqualification, giving Stevens the win. The question now is what business do Claudia and Arcane have together?

The main event of the evening featured the finals of the tag team tournament, as Team ATM and Electrifying Storm went to war to determine the first ever NWA Texoma Tag Team Champions. All members of ATM made their appearance during the match, but the referee was quick to eject them from ringside, leaving Wilcott and Foxx to do battle on their own.

They wouldn't need the distraction after all, as Wilcott launched Barrett off the top rope into the waiting arms of a Foxx stunner. The three count was made, and Team ATM are your new NWA Texoma Tag Team Champions. The opening predictions of Foxx rang true, but now they have a big target on their back with a host of teams gunning for their gold.

NWA Texoma can be found at the Sherman (TX) Elks Lodge on the third Saturday night of every month. You can get more information on their Facebook page or by going to their website.
