NWA Southern All-Star Wrestling saw the crowning of a new champion on Friday night in Millersville.

Heading into Friday night, "Standout" Charles Alexander had finally gotten the green light from his doctor to return to action after several weeks due to a shoulder injury. While Alexander would not be able to compete in the ring, he would remain a staple in Millersville. Making appearances each week, showing that he was getting stronger and stronger. Alexander would make his way back to the squared circle on Friday night excited to make his return. But what he was not expecting was the challenge of Kevin Weatherby.

Weatherby had been making his intentions known over the last few weeks to the NWA SAW crowd and to the locker room. Wanting to gain the notoriety that he thought he had deserved being the son of NWA SAW owner T. J. Weatherby, Kevin Weatherby had even went to the Nitro’s Noise segment to make his feelings known.

“You want to know what my problem is,” Weatherby told Nick Nitros, “yeah I came out here and threw my father’s name around. It’s a fact; he signs your check, and everyone else’s check. I broke my teeth here and have been here since day one. You want to know what my problem is, I’m sick and tired of being looked over like I’m some nobody. All week, I’ve sat and thought long and hard and when I walked in this building tonight, it hit me. Uncle Reno was right!”

After that segment, Weatherby went straight to NWA SAW management and demanded a title shot at Charles Alexander. So on April 11th, Weatherby got his match against Alexander. While these two men showed that they were ready to hold the NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight title. But it would be the enforcement that Weatherby had brought to the ring in Tim Jernigan that would be the one piece of the puzzle that was needed. A distraction by Jernigan to Alexander would give Weatherby the advantage and the three count to become the new NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight Champion.

NWA SAW management announced on Tuesday morning that the new NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight Champion Kevin Weatherby would be the guest for Nick Nitros and his controversial Nitros’ Noise segment on Friday night. What will Weatherby have to say to Nitros?

NWA SAW is located at 1214B Louisville Highway in Millersville, TN. Doors open on Friday, April 18, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. with bell time at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.
