UFTA has great ideas when it comes to shooting "Casting." They are in full swing to make ideas become reality, and their first shoot date is set for Sat., Feb. 8, 2014. The two new cast member characters will be Fred and Edna Murray. The real names of these characters and the others can be found at IMDb.
This past year UFTA began this film project, and shooting a film, any film, is not a simple assignment. UFTA put a lot of thought and planning into it before beginning, and it's president, Al Quinn, shared one of those thoughts, a goal.
"I'm one of the founders of UFTA, and one of our goals for helping those in the entertainmnet industry, especially those new in it, is to 'teach' the do's and don'ts of the business and all things associated with it. Casting for a film is one of those things."
"The majority of the cast was selected by spring 2013. During that same time frame, up through this past fall, we have been in the pre-production stage." - UFTA President Al Quinn
For those who do not know, the behind the scenes of movies and television shows is not just a 1, 2, 3 it's done!
Much planning goes into shooting such projects, and part of it, usually one of the inital stages, is the writing. Due to so many changes that can occur before the production begins, the writing can or has to change as well.
"Our script began as an approximately 20 minute long film, counting credits, but for different reasons we wanted it shorter. Currently it runs between 10-15 minutes, with credits, and one might think that makes things easier, creating a shorter film, but it does not.
Also due to wanting as many of our UFTA members to be a part of the film, there are a lot of cast members for such a short film, and officially today we have added two more." - Quinn
UFTA, whose majority of membership resides in Florida's Lee and Collier counties, is a not for profit organization that supports the entertainment industry in all areas. Those who are in the industry, or interested in it, are welcome to attend, join UFTA and become part of great projects such as the film "Casting."
Al Quinn points out some of the film's goals:
- To include UFTA members as much as possible
- For membership to receive shooting experience
- For members and others to learn what the film has to say about the do's and don'ts of casting
