Chloë Grace Moretz is getting high praise for her work in the current release, “Kick-Ass 2”. Hit-Girl is once again stealing every scene she appears in. This October, just in time for Halloween, Chloë will really get a chance to show off her acting abilities in the movie, “Carrie”.
Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, “Carrie” is not only a re-imagining of the movie that starred Sissy Spacek, it should also be noted it is the first movie to be adapted from one of King’s novels. The 1976 version is very well known, so much so that the makers of the new trailer, released earlier today on August 26, had no problem showing almost EVERYTHING that happens in the movie.
If you don’t mind the spoilers, then click the trailer to see for yourself. We see Carrie living a hard life with her overly religious/crazy mother, played by Julianne Moore, Carrie is equally abused by the other kids at her high school, Carrie discovers she is not like the other kids, Carrie is invited to the prom, we see what happens to her at the prom, we see what happens to everyone else at the prom and what happens after it. While the trailer apparently keeps no secrets, the contents of this article will remain spoiler free for those who are not familiar with the original movie.
The only difference this movie and the original is that this one takes place in modern times. At the end of the trailer a phone number appears where you can call Carrie and if you call she will actually answer. Just be careful, you don’t want to get her into trouble with her mom. "Carrie" opens October 18.
