Thanksgiving, football games, dinner happenings – they are all on your radar. The seasonal party season is in full swing. Why not wow your guests and plant Newcastle’s new Winter IPA in their hand?
“Sure, I’ll take a beer.” But instead of offering up a pedestrian Bud or overdone Corona, go Euro and give them this conversation piece.
For the uninitiated, IPA stands for India Pale Ale, which are best known for their hallmark color and “hoppiness.” Only available now through January 2012, England’s Newcastle Winter IPA stays true to the original, subtly hopped recipes of traditional 18th century India Pale Ales, maintaining the drinkability that Newcastle enthusiasts come to expect.
Marked by a strong hop aroma and a zesty character with hints of malt, Winter IPA features just a touch of sweetness to offer a delicate and creamy mouthfeel. Pouring a seductive copper color, the brew offers subtle caramel notes, a full body and a balanced finish.
Made with Super Styrian and Styrian Goldings hops, Newcastle's Limited Edition Winter IPA is 5.2 percent alcohol by volume, which makes it a good candidate to serve with food. OK, remember that when you grill those brauts this weekend – or that turkey soon thereafter. These brews are available at Total Wine, AJ's Fine Foods, BevMo and other fine bottle shops. Cheers!
