“The official Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay trailer – “Evening the Odds” showcases Scarecrow’s return to Gotham City as he schemes to unite the Rogues Gallery and destroy Batman once and for all,” the description from the press release sent by WB Interactive reads. “As the citizens flee and criminal gangs take control, the Dark Knight evens the odds by taking to the streets in the legendary Batmobile to ignite the fight that will decide the future of the city that he is sworn to protect.”

Yes, the Batmobile is drivable for the first time in the “Arkham” franchise and Batman can summon it to his location at any time. As seen in the video, it’s a formidable tank of a car complete with missiles, the ability to perform jumps, smash through objects or even the ability to drive up the side of walls. Players will need it too as Gotham City is approximately five times larger than what was experienced in “Arkham City” with three different islands and various distinct districts such as Chinatown.

“Arkham Knight” is set approximately one year after “Batman: Arkham City” as the Scarecrow has hatched a plan with fellow super-villains Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn to remove the Dark Knight from the equation once and all. Scarecrow’s fear bombs have been planted throughout the city forcing the evacuation of all the citizens. This leaves only Batman, the villains and their henchman and the Gotham City police on the streets.

“Batman: Arkham Knight” is currently set for an Oct. 14 release to the PS4, Xbox One and PC. There will not be a release to the PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii U.
