New atheist billboard: "Reject All Religious Superstitions"

(9/23/11) The Backyard Skeptics of Orange County, California, may be the most active and activist skeptic group in the country... at least in their little corner of it. Last Saturday they tore up offensive Bible passages at the Huntington Beach Pier and this Saturday (9/24/11) they're planning a protest at the Creation Museum in Santee (east of San Diego). Today though, they're doing something they've done a number of times before: unveiling atheist billboards. What's new for BYS is that this time, they're unveiling two instead of one.

From the Backyard Skeptics meetup page:

Our latest two billboards will be up tomorrow so we are having a press conference at the one off the 55 and Chapman.  Go east on Chapman and it is on your left in less than a mile across from the Johnny Reb's restaurant. The message is "Make This A Better World - Reject All Religious Superstitions".  Below are 35 religious superstitions listed.

Talking Snakes, Burning Bushes, Resurrection, Reincarnation, Intelligent Design, Miraj, Virgin Birth, Magic Underwear, Demigods, Rapture, Garden of Eden, Satan, 666, Xenu, Golden Plates, Astrology, Miracles, Mithras, Osirus, Ascensions, Voodoo, A Cracker, Jihad, Crusade, Heaven, Hell, Angels, Demons, Hand of Fatima, Halal, Salvation, Sin, Prayer, World Floods, the Soul, the East Star.

The other billboard is on the 22 freeway at Valley View on the left as you are traveling west.

It shows a man reading a Bible behind bars and the message:  Faith Has No Answers, It Only Impedes Questions".

The BYS press conference is scheduled for 4 pm. Afterwards, members plan to have dinner at Johnny Reb's across the street from the billboard. For more information on the Backyard Skeptics and their activities, see their webpage.
