Here are iPad, iPhone and iPad apps worth downloading today
According to a Feb. 4 report in AppCraver, the developer Mediakitchen has just released a cool educational app for preschool children, ages 2 to 5. Called Explore and Learn Shapes, this app uses a St. Patrick's Day theme with a leprechaun named Lucky to introduce preschoolers to 8 different shape educational games. What a great St. Patrick's Day math activity for classroom teachers!
The interface in this preschool app is clean so a child can stay focused on the task at hand. The task can be an activity as simple as selecting a shape according to audio prompts, matching shapes or putting together shapes in an age appropriate jigsaw puzzle. Lots of fun and positive feedback encourage children to complete the activities. This app is just 99 cents.
Also new to the App Store today, according to App Store announcements, is Happy Squirrel Jump, a very simple and fun game. Control is easy: just tilt your iPad, iPhone or iPad touch from side to side to help the squirrel jump from one platform to the next. Grab the nuts and collect the fruit along the way to make the squirrel to jump higher. Free for today.
