New anime convention coming to Illinois in 2013

Fans in Illinois announced recently that a new convention will be coming to the Chicago area in December 2013.

DomoCon, a new first year convention, is scheduled to be at the Wyndham Hotel in Lisle from December 13-15, 2013. The event is going to feature several events including cosplaying, video games, and anime screenings. The press release is below.

Lisle, Illinois - January 24, 2013 - A new Chicago anime convention has been announced for December 2013 in Lisle, Illinois. The new event, DomoCon, is slated to bring together over one thousand fans of Japanese animation to participate in autograph signings, cosplay events, and socializing with other anime fans for three days from December 13-15, 2013.

"We want to create a convention that brings anime fans together," said convention organizer Erica Bleed. "We want to create something that is about connecting cosplayers and having fun."

DomoCon expects to bring famous voice actors together with anime fans to celebrate Japanese animation. Scheduled events will include Karaoke, Cosplay Costume Contests, and a room filled with unique artists and vendors.

DomoCon anime con will be held at the Wyndham Hotel in Lisle, Illinois from December 13-15, 2013. When registration opens, it is expected that advance registration will cost about $30. Registration information will be available on the convention's website at http://domocon.org/register
