"Defiance" (Syfy)

"Defiance" is an American science fiction television series that is set in the near future, where aliens known collectively as the Votans come to Earth seeking a new home after their own solar system was destroyed.

"Dominion" is a show that follows the perilous journey of a young soldier who finds out he's the savior of humanity. "Dominion" is the successor of the 2010 movie "Legion," and it takes place about 25 years after where the movie left off.

"The Last Ship" is an American post-apocalyptic drama television series that is based on a novel of the same name by author William Brinkley. A global pandemic has infected about half of the world's population, with the exception of a crew of one U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer. In order to save humanity, the scientists and crew aboard the ship must try to find a cure and stop the virus.

"Tyrant" is an American drama series that tells the story of Bassam "Barry" Al Fayeed, who is from a war-torn country and has lived in exile in the L.A. area for almost 20 years. He is the youngest son of a dictator, and has to return to his home country with his American family to attend a relative's wedding. His return causes a severe clash in both familial and national politics.

"The Leftovers" is an American television drama series from "Lost" creator Damon Lindelof and author, Tom Perrotta. It is based on Perrotta's novel of the same name. The show's pilot episode was written by Lindelof and Perrotta, and directed by Peter Berg. The series takes place in the wake of a global "Rapture" and revolves around the mysterious disappearances of people world-wide, but specifically focuses on the group of people who are left behind in the suburban community of Mapleton.

The American science fiction series "Under the Dome" returns for a second season. Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, the TV series was developed and produced by both King and Brian K. Vaughan. The residents of Chester Mill are still trapped under the mysterious dome that has cut them off from the rest of the world. Hopefully this season, fans of the show will learn more about how and why this indestructible dome is holding them all prisoner.
