The race to find a complete cure has brought news over the last two years of a new safe and non-invasive claim of a wonder drug created from P7C3 that has been successful in treating rats.
Research of over the last years has uncovered many techniques and medications that help treat brain disorders such as Alzheimers'. Drugs such as Aricept, Remynyl and Exelon have been successful in alleviating symptoms of memory loss.
A drug that stimulates growth of new brain cells will soon be available.
Alzheimers' is a process by which new brain cells are no longer developing and existing neurons are dying. The idea of P7C3 based drug is to encourage and stimulate growth of new memory cells. P7C3 is combined to create a deriative called A20. The deriative is combined with two test phase Alzheimers' memory stimulation drugs to bring about the final product.
This is great news for every human on earth since memory loss diseases affects everyone the world over. Up to now, radical research initiatives to bring about partial cures or to halt memory loss has been complicated, contraversial and sometimes invasive.
Invasive and radical methods have alleviated and halted memory loss progression.
According to William Rodman Shankle, M.S. M.D., and Daniel G. Amen, M.D., in Preventing Alzheimers, two methods have resulted in high percentages of success for persons with memory loss diseases, Omenal Transposition Surgery and Low Pressure Shunts.
Omenal Transposition Surgery
One method called that has been used for Alzheimers has resulted in 80% success rate. The person chosen for a surgery called OTS or Omenal Transposition Surgery must be healthy physically. OTS, credited with beginning in 2004, involves the Omendum tissue just below the skin, that covers the intestines. It is loaded with stem cells and blood vessels that is functional in generating new cells. The Omendum never dies and continues to survive and function throughout life.
The surgery is invasive with a cut at the abdomen and taking the Omendum and feeding it up under the skin to the affected part of the brain. The Omendum tissue is attached there and the patient is closed up.
Another downside of OTS for researched Alzheimers cases thus far, is that while memory loss, anxiety, depression and hallucinations is halted, the mental abilities already lost never returns.
Low Pressure Shunts Research started to develop in 2005.
Devices that drain cerebrospinal fluid from the brain to the abdominal cavity is an important method used to eliminate certain free radicals from the brain in certain diseases.
According to Preventing Alzheimer’s, CSF is a “clear salty fluid that completely surrounds the brain and spinal cord both inside and out and acts like a shock absorber whose temperature and salt concentration stays constant...." Draining harmful elements "makes it easier to control the brain’s electrical activity and it removes waste products from the brain such as broken down proteins, fats and toxins."
A low pressure shunt is being researched for a possible way of removing beta amyloids that are known to cause AD in some cases. This is still in the experimental stage.
Availability for the new drug is in the future.
As with all new discoveries, the new memory cell developing drug will continue through the qualifying stages. With support for research, dementia care providers may be dispensing memory miracles to sufferers of Alzheimers', Vascular and other memory loss diseases in the very near future.
