The "Assassin's Creed" series, arguably Ubisoft's most popular franchise, is being developed with a great amount of passion. Just last fall, "Assassin's Creed 3" introduced us to a new protagonist, Connor and his attempts to thwart the colonial Templars during the American Revolution. There is another installment currently in development for Ubisoft's 2014 fiscal year. On Feb. 9, 2013, a new photo was posted on Ubisoft's Facebook page possibly revealing a new ancestor to the series' main protagonist, Desmond Miles.
In a recent article by Polygon, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had some words to say last Thursday about the upcoming project. "We are delighted and proud to announce today that in financial year '14, we will introduce an all-new "Assassin's Creed" hero, within an all new team and time period, and we expect it to be another major leap forward for the franchise."
Guillemot went on to talk about the benefit of having many teams at work over the years. Each concentrating on multiple chapters and delivering their own versions of the game with each installment. Further details about the game are said to be released "very soon."
The storyline of "Assassin's Creed" has become a deep one over the years. Each new entry to the chain of events up until now has introduced three playable protagonists, not including Desmond Miles, the descendant of the three. With plans to present a new ancestor to Desmond's lineage, a new "Assassin's Creed" is sure to excite gamers who have followed the story from the very first title.
