A new endurance event is coming to North San Diego County in 2014!
After months of meetings and overcoming hurdles, organizers of the "10/20" race received approval to hold the race, which will travel through Del Mar, Solana Beach and Encinitas.
The race, expected to have 10,000-12,000 participants, will begin at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, run north on Highway 101 to Chesterfield Drive in Encinitas, and return back to the Fairgrounds using the same route. Along the 10-mile route, 20 bands will be entertaining and motivating runners from start to finish. In addition, race organizers will be donating $10,000 to charities in each of the three cities.
The "10/20" race is slated to be held February 16, 2014.
