‘Neverwinter’ kicks off first beta weekend, new class trailer released (Photos)

Friday afternoon Perfect World Entertainment kicked off the first of three beta weekends for their upcoming free-to-play “Dungeons & Dragons” inspired MMORPG, “Neverwinter”, and with that comes a trailer for the fifth class in the game, the Devoted Cleric.

The first beta weekend, kicking off at 12pm PST on Friday, is limited to a select few, mostly press and those of you that purchased one of the available Founder’s Packs for “Neverwinter”, which gives you access to the beta as well as exclusive items. You can try and get in on the later beta weekends by signing up at the game’s official site.

The new trailer for the Devoted Cleric class, available as a playable class in the beta this weekend, can be found below. To learn all about the damage dealing healer you can visit this link.

Perfect World Entertainment had a little more news this week, including the release of screenshots revealing two of the new maps that gamers will be able to battle it out in when they release the largest update for “Blacklight: Retribution” to date. Safehold is a map built around an open plaza with several balconies circling it while Metro is ideal for short-range weapon fans thanks to its tunnels and side hallways broken up by sharp corners. Both maps will support Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, and Domination match types. You can see the four new screenshots in the slideshow up top.

Lastly, this week also marked the beginning of the Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year in-game events for the action MMORPG, “RaiderZ”. Among the items and activities available now through Feb. 27, 2013 are Weaponized Gambling and a Chocolate Broomstick Mount, which will come with a unique mounted action that lets gamers smite with a Cupid Arrow emote. Weaponized Gambling will have a chance of the game’s monsters dropping a “Yut Game Set”, based on the Korean board game. Players will be able to equip the oversized Yut Stick pieces as weapons and when attacking players will drop down their Yut Sticks, generating a random buff effect. You can learn more about the events and sign up for “RaiderZ” by visiting the official site.
