Never give up on your dreams

Everybody has a dream. Very often those dreams are what keep you working and striving for what may oftentimes seem like an unreachable goal. Still, it can be easy to give up on your dream if the results you want to see don’t happen right away. After all, this is an age of instant gratification. Nobody likes to play the waiting game.

People work at losing weight, but give up when the pounds and inches don’t come off as quickly as they would like. People write, but give up after the first rejection letter. People apply for their dream job, but give up after the first time of not being hired.

Have you ever stopped to wonder what might happen if you don’t give up? Perhaps your dream is just around the corner. Perhaps one more step in the right direction would be the one that catapults you into the realization of your dream.

There are many success stories that would not have happened if those people had given up and stopped trying.

-Michael Jordan was told during his sophomore year in high school that he was to short to play basketball. He did not give up and ended up becoming the most famous NBA player in history.

-Charles Schlutz, the creator of the legendary Charlie Brown comic series was turned down time and again. His work was even turned down by the great Walt Disney himself. If he had given up at that point, he would never have realized his dream.

-Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken went to over 1000 places trying to sell his special chicken recipe before he found a buyer who was interested.

-Walt Disney was fired at one time for his lack of creativity. He also went bankrupt several times before eventually building Disney World. The rest is history.

-Margaret Mitchell’s “Gone with the Wind” was turned down approximately 25 times before being published.

Never give up on your dream. You may suffer rejection and criticism along the road. Use both as stepping stones to your success rather than insurmountable boulders. Your dream could be just a moment away
