March 5, 2013, marks the worldwide release, of previously unreleased songs by guitarist extraordinaire, Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix created a unique style of electric guitar riffs that are uniquely his own. The 1960's rock icon, is arguably one of the greatest guitarists in rock music. In 2011, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the "Top 100 Greatest Guitarists."
Jimi Hendrix is ranked as number one. Followed by Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page-Led Zeppelin, Keith Richards-The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, BB King and Eddie Van Halen, are included in the top ten.
Jan. 20, CBS Local writes, "Hawaii Five-O episode, “Olelo Ho’opa’I Make” (Hawaiian for “death sentence”), sees Chin (played by Daniel Dae Kim), kidnapped and dropped in the middle of Halawa Prison dressed as an inmate; he fights for his life to escape when other prisoners recognize him as “Five-0” (a policeman)."
The episode of the wildly popular, CBS crime drama, filmed in Honolulu, featuring the seven unreleased Hendrix songs, is critically acclaimed as the best episode of season three. "The use of the Hendrix music was the perfect soundtrack for everything that happened, too. The music added some extra grittiness that went nicely with a story that included a prison riot, a helicopter rescue and other general kick-ass scenes."
The Hawaii Five-0 episode premiered after the NFL AFC Championship game. The Hendrix songs featured in the episode are ”Bleeding Heart,” “Mojo Man,” “Hey Gypsy Boy,” “Inside Out,” “Crash Landing,” “Hear My Train A Comin’” and “Somewhere.”
