Five15 lies slightly off the beaten path of Royal Oak’s Main Street nightlife, but it’s worth the extra mile.
The café made a name for itself by holding bingo nights nearly every weekend. These are not grandma’s bingo nights, but maybe she would like to tag along. This is Drag Queen Bingo, and variable drag queen hosts – including Orlando’s Trixie Deluxxe, Toledo’s Hershae Chocolattae and Saugatuck’s September Murphy – keep the crowd lively and entertained. Alcohol is not served at this venue, but Five15’s menu has a wide selection of coffee, tea, smoothies and more.
Drag Queen Bingo begins on Fridays and Saturdays between 7 and 9 p.m. The price is just $20 per person for four rounds of bingo. Winners may receive a variety of prizes including humorous tshirts, mugs and ever-coveted cash.
Five15 also holds Salon Sundays and monthly open mic nights. Regular coffeehouse hours are Mon.-Sat. 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
