Northern Nevadans will begin voting in the Special Election for the 2nd Congressional District (CD2) seat this Saturday, August 27,2011, through September 9th, except on Sundays and the Labor Day holiday. September 13, is the election day set by Governor Brian Sandoval if you do not vote early..
The CD2 seat was vacated by Republican Dean Heller, because he was appointed to the US Senate by Republican Governor Brian Sandoval to fill the Senate seat vacated by the morally and ethically challenged Republican John Ensign who resigned this past May.
While most of the district covered by the CD2 is in Northern Nevada, it does include parts of northern and southeastern Clark County, such as Mesquite, Sandy Valley, Jean, Goodsprings, Primm, Southern Highlands and Southern Sun City Anthem, and Nellis Air Force Base.
A complete list of the times and locations for early voting is available through the County Election Department Website , click link above..
For those in Clark County wishing to vote with a mail in ballot, request forms must be received by the Election Department by 5 p.m. on Sept. 6.
