Nevada pot legalization: 6th state to legalize pot?

Nevada pot legalization has come up in debate and some believe that Nevada could become the 6th state to consider legalizing the recreational drug. On March 14 The Daily Beast reported that the state of Nevada is mulling over a law that would make the possession of marijuana legal. Since the drug is already legal for patients who need it, this idea might not be that far off.

"We've wasted a tremendous amount of money spoiling teenagers' lives, chasing them around until we can arrest them for something and marijuana is not just a harmless plant. The medical benefits are remarkable," explained Las Vegas Assemblyman Joe Hogan.

Nevada pot legalization is something that many feel will happen, it's just a matter of time. Since the legalization of pot has been considered in other states (Alaska, Colorado, California, Maine, and Oregon), and all of those states have implemented a decriminalization for marijuana possession. So far, things seem to be working out fine.

Joe Hogan is planning to "introduce a measure" that would not just decriminalize marijuana use/possession, but actually allow it. In many ways, Hogan shares the feelings of thousands of Americans who feel that an arrest for marijuana (under a certain amount) is just pointless.

Does the Nevada pot legalization idea surprise you? Would you support it?
