A Nevada motel captive was rescued after six months thanks to a Facebook post. On Jan. 14, The Las Vegas Sun reported that Sheena Herschbach was kept captive by Jason Greniger at the MV Motel in Mesquite, only allowed to go out to buy Greniger some beer. He threatened her and beat her and kept her at his beck and call for the past several months -- until she finally was able to get to a computer.
According to the report, Herschbach convinced Greniger to let her go to the library. While she was there, she quickly logged in to her Facebook account and posted a cryptic message.
The Nevada motel captive wrote, "I just want to let every one know I’m sarry I whant to come home but he wont let me yes Jason don’t knoe im online in mesquet novata at the mv motel (sic)." A friend saw the strange post and quickly alerted police. Police acted swiftly and were able to save Herschbach -- and arrest Greniger.
"Herschbach said Greniger beat her numerous times and threatened to harm her or her children if she tried to call police. It wasn’t until he allowed her to visit the library that she was able to escape," read the Mesquite Police arrest report in part.
The Nevada motel captive's kidnapped tried to deny who he was but he was eventually taken into custody and charged with second-degree kidnapping. Sheena Herschbach is back home with her family and is said to be doing better following the ordeal.
