Network in Northern Colorado: Feb 13-18

Why networking? Networking is no longer only for the unemployed. The reality of today’s economy is one of volatility where “stability” for professionals means having an up-to-date skill set and a strong network to help you land quickly when the next transition happens.

This week’s networking tip: LinkedIn has become one of the most common and easiest ways to connect and stay connected. When communicating on LinkedIn, keep one simple tip in mind – don’t do (say) anything on LinkedIn you wouldn’t do (say) in person. If connecting with someone you’ve never met, introduce yourself and tell the person why you are interested in connecting. Avoid sending only the generic greeting from LinkedIn. Connect with people you meet at face-to-face networking events and stay in touch. Build relationships by finding ways to add value for your network – answering questions, sharing resources, or initiating introductions you think might be helpful.
