Nets keep plugging, sign another D-Leaguer

The Nets are going back to the well once again.

After opening the season with Dennis Horner on the roster and subsequently adding Larry Owens, Billy King hopes the third time is the charm.

The Nets have come to terms with combo guard/forward Andre Emmett, who played with the Reno Bighorns of the NBA D-League.

He signed a 10-day contract and in order to make room for Emmett, the Nets waived Keith Bogans.

Emmett, 6-foot-5, had enjoyed considerable success in Reno in 2011-12. In 21 starts, the swingman averaged 23.7 ppg and six rpg.

He shot 53.1 percent from the field and 45.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Emmett is a well-traveled player, taking his talents from Belgium to Lithuania to China and back to the States.

The Seattle SuperSonics drafted him 35th in the 2004 NBA Draft before sending him to the Memphis Grizzlies. Emmett will be in uniform Wednesday night when the Nets take on those same Grizzlies at the Prudential Center.

Emmett is the all-time leading scorer at Texas Tech University, where he played under Bob Knight.
