Netflix on the iPad? Who cares about Flash?

The Apple iPad

One of the top missing features of the iPad is the lack of Flash support, which means many websites that depend on Flash would not be compatible with Apple's upcoming tablet computer, including video sites like Hulu. This is a major dent in the iPad's attractiveness, but what if the device could stream Netflix Instant Access movies?

Hacking Netflix has uncovered a survey about Netflix offering their subscribers the ability to instantly watch movies and TV episodes on their iPhone via a Wi-Fi network. And while this doesn't mean Netflix is definitely coming to the iPhone, it is a strong indicator of interest. Netflix has been very aggressive at bringing their streaming movie service to multiple platforms.

And while Netflix on the iPhone and iPod Touch would be cool, Netflix movies streaming to the iPad would be very cool. The iPad is made for curling up on the couch and watching videos. A Netflix app could make us forget that the iPad doesn't support Flash.

Hulu wants eyeballs. The iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad will account for a lot of eyeballs. Hulu will find a way to get thier content viewed on Apple products because it's in thier interest to do so.

I really want an ipad, but only because I crave pointless, overpriced useless technology. Probably WONT buy one, because 80% of my computer use is for streaming video (i haven't had a television for 14 years). As soon as hulu is offered, hopefully without overpriced subscription services, i'll be ready to max out my credit card. Netflix streaming service could sway my purchasing power even sooner.
