The stylish folks of Venice have always looked to trendy Abbot Kinney to provide them with the latest and greatest in fashion, food and fun. Now, take note as four-eyes from all over Los Angeles stumble over to A. Kinney Court, a concept fashion boutique and optical eyewear gallery, to fight over the most nerd-a-licious of frames that even Steve Urkel would lust after.

The store offers a titillating assortment of iconic vintage Oliver Peoples eyewear as well as other vintage and new frames from KBL Eyewear, Thierry LasryPaul Smith and Mykita. A. Kinney Court also features locally made shoes and apparel from Gourmet, Becca Moon and LnA. Specialty pieces include dead-stock Oliver Peoples; the company's first three frame styles circa 1987: the 501, 505 and 506; and one off sculptural pair of Oliver Peoples made in 1987 especially for Andy Warhol. The gallery also offers the option of made-in-America sunglass lenses that can be cut to order for any set of spectacles that your heart may be set on.

Garrett Leight, founder of A. Kinney Court, says that the catalyst for launching his business was the moment that he came across a pair of 20-year-old Oliver Peoples eyeglass frames in a retired, preppy style in his mother mother’s garage several years ago. Leight, son of Oliver Peoples founder Larry Leight, is no rookie in the fashion industry – his accolades include working as a full-time employee at Oliver Peoples and at trend-driven men’s footwear company, Gourmet.

The 800-square-foot, modern-looking space features an architectural design influenced in true Venice fashion - by the beach, specifically the waves and sand dunes, while the curvaceous plywood displays are reminiscent of Venice’s skatepark.  Next time you’re in the 90291 be sure to pop in and be prepared to start seeing the world in a whole new way, with the sickest of shades or spectacles. A. Kinney Court is located at 1423 Abbot Kinney Blvd.
