On March 30th, 2014 the Neon Lights Tour made its final stop in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The tour featured X-Factor contestants Fifth Harmony, UK up and coming sensation Cher Lloyd and the headliner was none other than the pop princess Demi Lovato. This tour was in support of Demi's most recent album release simply called "Demi".
Fifth Harmony is an American girl group formed on the second season of The X Factor. The group consists of members Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, and Lauren Jauregui. It came as no surprise that these girls perform a bubble gum pop style of music. That being said, it definitely seemed that they loved being on stage and performing for fans. They had decent energy and stage presence and that will only continue to grow as their careers develop.
Cher Lloyd took stage next. She recently appeared on Sirius Hits 1 when she premiered her new single "Sirens". Cher Lloyd is an English singer-songwriter, rapper and model. Lloyd rose to fame when she finished fourth in the seventh series of The X Factor. Cher is clearly an up and coming sensation, as their was nobody left sitting while she performed. She is constantly moving around, jumping and having fun.
And finally miss Demi Lovato took the stage. To say that it got loud in the arena would be an understatement; it was one of the biggest reactions you'll see anyone get. Demi has been on a lot of people's radar for quite awhile now, but her new album is really a huge break for her. Her stage presence and energy were absolutely incredible. Without a doubt, she loves every minute she is on stage. She played a wide range of her song catalog, reaching all the way back to her debut album. Demi has always been as open and honest with her fans as possible and on this night it was no different.
Just before she began playing "Warrior" she gave an incredible speech to the crowd about some of the things that she has been through such as, eating disorders, depression, drug/alcohol abuse, and as she said the taboo one is self harm. She urged everyone in attendance to be brave enough to talk about these issues, bring their problems to light, and ask for help. She thanked everyone for their support and love over the years and had one last message before starting the song. Demi said "Everyone is worthy of being loved, and being happy."
This was probably the high point of the show because it really showed the type of person she is. It is easy for people to dismiss the power of music and its ability to help people deal with different issues in their lives.
