It's often said that there is no such thing as bad publicity, that any kind of publicity, even negative publicity, is good. One person who seems to believe that is "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes, who took to Twitter on Sunday, March 9, to thank her co-stars Kenya Moore and Marlo Hampton for keeping her so relevant.
NeNe wrote that Kenya and Marlo, by constantly talking about her, are actually helping keep her at the forefront of the show.
"They hav 2 talk abt me every show n hopes that it will help them but it actually helps me! Gonna write yall a check n the amount of free," she wrote, a clear reference to free publicity.
She then revealed that Marlo doesn't even get paid to be on the show and that Kenya gets paid "pennies."
"They keep me relevant! One don't even get paid 2 b on the show & they other gets pennies 2 do anything," she added.
NeNe is one of the few women who have parlayed their "Real Housewives" fame into a successful entertainment career. She had roles in "Glee" and "The New Normal" and is a frequent guest of national talk shows. She is in the new season of "Dancing With The Stars," partnered with pro dancer Tony Dovolani. She is also reportedly the highest paid housewife, having received $1 million plus bonuses for the sixth season of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."
Do you agree with NeNe Leakes that the more Kenya Moore and Marlo Hampton talk about her, the more famous and successful she just gets?
