NeNe Leakes dog: Nene's dog Playa rescued from car (Video)

A NeNe Leakes dog emergency was handled in a timely fashion, ensuring that the reality TV star's yorkie was safe from any potential harm. The dog named Playa was apparently locked inside Leakes' car and needed to be rescued by the police.

According to a report from TMZ via Inquisitr on March 5, Leakes accidentally left both her keys and Playa inside her vehicle during a trip to Beverly Hills. She phoned the police to come to her resource and was eventually able to flag down a cop who helped get the locked door open, retrieving the car keys and her yorkie. TMZ's report says Playa wasn't in any serious danger while locked in the vehicle, but Leakes was apparently still worried about her dog's safety.

The 45-year-old Leakes, real name Linnethia Monique Johnson, has been a part of multiple TV shows, with her major claim to fame the reality TV series "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." In addition, she's had a recurring role on FOX's "Glee" playing Roz Washington, and has appeared on both "Let's Stay Together" and "The Game" on BET. Her latest show is a comedy series called "The New Normal" on NBC where she plays Rocky Rhodes, a former production assistant.

Roanoke viewers are able to watch the various "Housewives" shows on Cox Cable channel 41, and "The New Normal" via local NBC affiliate station WSLS 10.
