Nelson Mandela was hospitalized but he is not dead despite speculation. Mandela was admitted to the hospital for a "routine check-up" -- a story that many people are reading about today. On March 10, USA Today reported that Mandela only spent one night in the hospital for what is being called "scheduled medical tests." According to doctors, there is no cause for "alarm" when it comes to Mandela's latest hospital visit.
Mandela's health has been in question over the past year or so. Some people are worried that he may be sick or that there might be some underlying ailment that he is suffering from that the public is unaware of.
Nelson Mandela was hospitalized back in December as well. While some reports claimed that he was in for "routine tests," it was later reported that he had been treated for a lung infection and that he had some gallstones removed. Again, people were wondering if Mandela was dead or dying and what was really going on.
Since "routine" visits generally don't require over night stays in the hospital, Mandela's advanced age may require some extra care after tests are performed. In July, Mandela will be 95-years-old. As far as specifics, it is unknown what Mandela was tested for. He is, however, okay according to doctors.
Nelson Mandela hospitalized headlines definitely worry some people. He is very popular and so many people love him.
