Let our nation pause in the lost of a great man, Nelson Mandela, who has died at the age of 95, Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013. MSNBC reported the news amongst other major news outlets.

Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa loved his oppressor. He suffered in prison for 27 years for his beliefs and once released, reached out and reconciled with his oppressor.

He’s the model, the bar and the star. He was mammoth. – Rev. Al Sharpton

President Barak Obama addressed the nation at approximately 5:30 pm and said these words:

Nelson Mandela achieved more than can be expected of any man…Lost one of the most courageous men on this earth. He was fierce….transformed South Africa. Reconciled with those who jailed him…Did it all with grace and humor…makes the man more remarkable…

The president stated that his first political action was, protest against Apartheid.

I cannot imagine my own life without the example Nelson Mandela set. We will not likely see the likes of Nelson Mandela again.

Nelson Mandela our hero and inspiration, may you rest in peace!
