Nelly Furtado loves playing New Year’s Eve and plans to “bring the party” to the frosty outdoors at her upcoming televised New Year’s Eve gig in Niagara Falls, Ont.
According to a news release published today at GlobalNews.ca, the Grammy Award winning Canuck singer-songwriter will brave the cold climate to entertain the party crowd at "Entertainment Tonight Canada’s fourth annual "New Year's Eve at Niagara Falls."
The “Maneater” hitmaker, who also kicks off a cross-Canada tour new month in support of her fourth English language studio album “The Spirit Indestructible,” enjoys playing New Year’s gigs, because people are “there to party,” saying, "It's an easier gig that way in terms of meeting expectations, I guess. But no gig is easy, because you've got to bring the party."
Headlining a bill that also includes electro-pop trio Dragonette and Vancouver rockers Hedley, the Victoria, BC native will perform a mix of material culled from her five English and Spanish studio albums during the two-hour show.
Hosted by Cheryl Hickey and Matte Babel, “E.T. Canada’s” "New Year's Eve at Niagara Falls” will air on Monday, Jan. 31 at 10 p.m. EST/PST on the Global TV.
