Monet had impressionism. Michelangelo had sculpture. Stephanie Guarino has eyebrows. And like the masters before her, she has built her reputation on innovation, consistency and beauty. Known as the “brow guru,” Guarino travels the southeast as a representative of Christian Dior, shaping and styling the eyebrows of those fortunate enough to make it in her chair.
So what makes Guarino the expert? For starters, she has more than 27 years experience as a makeup artist, and has been featured in InStyle magazine as one of the top makeup artists in the US. Now based in Atlanta, she takes her expertise on the road, beautifying each face one brow at a time.
Last week, Neiman Marcus hosted Guarino, giving Fort Worth women the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary consultation and brow shaping. Appointments with Guarino were difficult to come by, with time slots filling up well in advance. Lucky ladies enjoyed a makeup application with a Dior makeup artist before getting in front of Guarino. She studies each face, and measures the brows against other facial features to align them properly. She tweezes and trims to define the shape, and uses a pencil (more on that later) to even out each side. Not to worry, apparently just about everyone has uneven brows in need of a little balancing. Creating the optimal shape and arch is a game changer, opening up the eyes and adding proportion the face.
Dior Beauty has several brow pencil options, none more popular perhaps than the Diorshow Brow Styler. Available in one universal color, the ultra-fine tip pencil makes shaping and defining easy. Find it at Neiman Marcus or at online at Dior.com.
