Neil Young completes follow up album to Le Noise

Neil Young has completed work on his 34th studio album.

According to an article posted today (2/1/12) at NME.com, the legendary Canuck singer-songwriter has finished the follow up to his 2010 Grammy Award winning album, Le Noise, and has turned over the record to his label Reprise Records

While talking at the D: Dive Into Media Conference, the “Heart of Gold” hitmaker said: "Yesterday I handed in a new brand record to Reprise Records. That is a concept record that everybody loved because they hadn't heard anything like it in a long time.”

Young appeared at the Slamdance Film Festival earlier this month to promote Journeys, his latest film collaboration with director Jonathan Demme, at which the veteran folk rocker revealed that he had been recording with his longtime backing group Crazy Horse, and that they already had 1 album completed, as well as a 2nd album in the works.

The 2-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s reinforced this claim by posting a 38-minute audio jam over the weekend to his official website, which was given the revealing, tongue-in-cheek title ‘Horse Back.”

The track was engineered and mixed by John Hanlon at Audio Casa Blanca Jan 6, 2012 and was credited as being performed by Young and his on-again/off-again Los Angeles, CA bandmates.

No other content details about the upcoming album were provided by Young at "D: Diveor at “Slamfest," nor was any timeline given as to when the the new album might be released.
