Neil Young and Jack White fans can check out a video made of the iconic pairs' guest appearance May 12 on "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon." The legendary Canuck singer-songwriter and ex-White Stripes frontman teamed to demonstrate how Young's latest studio album, "A Letter Home "was produced.

According to an update posted May 13 at 'The Tonight Show's' official Twitter account courtesy of Billboard.com, the two music icons chatted with the popular late night TV talk show host about Young's new record, which was recorded at White's Third Man Records in Nashville and also brought along White's refurbished 1947 Voice-O-Graph recording booth to the "Tonight Show" set. Young later entered the cramped booth to cut a live recording of Willie Nelson's 1961 country classic "Crazy" as the cameras rolled and the studio audience watched.

The ancient recording process allows users to record a song direct-to-vinyl so that they can leave with a finished record of their performance. The show ended with Young, White and Fallon playing back the vinyl recording of the finished product. Along with "Crazy," Young also recorded a web-exclusive video performance in the booth of Ivory Joe Hunter’s “Since I Met You Baby.” Fans can check out the footage at "The Tonight Show's" official YouTube page.

Released on vinyl format on April 18, "A Letter Home," contains 10-covers of songs by a range of artists, including: Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Bert Jansch, Gordon Lightfoot, Tim Hardin and many others. In a statement on the Third Man website, the album was described as "an unheard collection of rediscovered songs from the past recorded on ancient electro-mechanical technology (that) captures and unleashes the essence of something that could have been gone forever."

Young recently details for a deluxe boxset release of the album. The upcoming limited edition set will include a CD, a download card, a making-of DVD, seven 6-inch clear vinyl discs and two 12-inch vinyl LPs. The boxset will be released on May 27 through Third Man and Reprise Records. Fans can preorder the set at NeilYoung.com.

Young wrapped his solo acoustic tour with a two-night acoustic solo stand on April 21 and 22 at the historic Chicago Theatre. The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will take a brief before heading overseas to team up with Crazy Horse for summer European tour, which begins in July.

Did you know? Neil Young's "A Letter Home" features Jack White on two tracks – vocals and piano on "On the Road Again" and "I Wonder If I Care as Much."
