Neil Diamond has been immortalized on Hollywood Boulevard today. The Superstar received the biggest honor Hollywood has to offer, his own Star on famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Neil Diamond’s career couldn’t’ be more impressive: he has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide, had 56 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100, including 37 top 10 singles, and 16 top 10 albums. In 2011 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His success spanned nearly five decades with famous songs as “Sweet Caroline” (1969); “Song Sung Blue” (1972); “Beautiful Noise” (1976); “September Morn” (1979); and “Love on the Rocks” (1981).
The 71-year-old looked delighted at the ceremony and was joined by his proud new wife Katie McNeil. The couple, who share a 35 million mansion in Los Angeles, met when McNeil was the executive producer of a 2009 documentary film about him called Neil Diamond: Hot August Night NYC.
Diamond used his official Twitter page to announce their engagement last September writing, ‘Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you’re the first I want to tell/Katie and I just got engaged/and I hope you wish us well.’
Neil, your Diamond will shine on for decades!
