Jerrod Metsker, the 24-year-old resident from a Smithville, Ohio mobile home park suspected of violently murdering his family friend and neighbor, nine-year-old Reann Murphy, and then leaving her violated body in a trash bin not far from his trailer, will be in court on Dec. 26.
Prosecutors in Wayne Co. will be overseeing Metsker’s arraignment today on charges of aggravated murder, kidnapping and rape. Reann Murphy was also allegedly strangled to death by the one-time family friend.
Little Reann was last seen alive playing outside her family home around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 in Metsker’s company, making him the last one to see the nine-year-old alive.
Afterwards, when the neighborhood was frantically searching for the missing child, Metsker was the one to make the 911 call saying that she was missing.
If found guilty of Reann’s murder, Metsker could receive the death penalty.
