Franklin Davis, 51 of Dania Beach, FL. Found himself in jail this weekend, after he fired two shots at his neighbor’s pit bull. One of bullets struck the one-year-old dog named Diesel, in the head. Davis then dragged the dog to his truck and then proceeded to drive the dog a half-a-mile to a dumpster and that is where Davis left Diesel to die.

In Davis’s statement to the Broward County Police, Davis states, “He fired two 38 mm from his revolver, one of which struck Diesel, he then dragged the dog to his truck and drove him to the nearest dumpster, and left him to die.”

The Hollywood Police Department received a call Sunday morning in reference to a dead dog that was left by a dumpster.

Gerald Wise, Diesel’s owner, had been searching for his dog Saturday evening, when he heard the two shots. Wise had no idea that they came from his neighbor, or that Davis had shot his dog. Wise found out Sunday and filed a formal complaint with the Broward County Police, and Davis was taken into custody on animal cruelty charges.

Wise is now asking for justice for Diesel, and has started a Facebook page, and a petition asking Davis be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Davis posted bail and was released yesterday.
