A puppy in Lacey, Wash., is safely out of harm's way after a woman turned over video evidence of alleged abuse to the local authorities, reported Monday's KIRO News.
Brandi Luckey watched in horror as her neighbor's three children repeatedly abused their new puppy named "Bella." Luckey's boyfriend was able to capture the alleged abuse, which included the kids hitting, kicking and throwing the small pup, on video.
Over the weekend, the video evidence was given to Thurston County Animal Services - after reviewing the video, officers promptly seized the German shepherd mix from her family. Bella was taken to an area veterinarian for x-rays and an exam; the pup was limping, but is expected to be okay.
Luckey is hoping that the children's mother will be charged with animal cruelty - the case has been turned over to the Thurston County prosecutor for review.
