One week ago, a three-year-old dog, whose body spoke of a sad life of neglect, found herself facing almost certain death at the San Antonio Animal Care Services facility in San Antonio, Texas.
The neglected dog was being held at the "Brooks Development Authority," where the hold time is short, and visibility to the general public is nearly non-existent.
Thankfully, despite the odds against her, this dog turned out to be one of the rare, lucky ones.
A woman learned of the dog's dire circumstances and she went to the facility to meet her.
Today, the dog is known as Somerset and she is not only safe, but she is in a loving home with a protective and loving canine brother.
Somerset has already been spayed and she is enjoying comforts in her new home which she likely has never known before...a soft bed, good food, loving attention and compassion.
Follow Somerset in her new life at this page which has been created to celebrate her rescue.
