Meet Neesh by D.A.R. -- the effortlessly, girlishly, Paris-flea-market-ly chic women's clothing line designed and produced in Chicago for the past 20 years—has announced the arrival of its Transition & Fall 2013 collection both online and in stores beginning in August 2013. The 31-style, 67-colorway collection features a variety of different styles and fabrics that can be matched and layered for a smooth progression from late summer days to the cooler nights of early fall.
Inspired by menswear and Downton Abbey (specifically, the butler), expect to see expertly crafted cardigans, motorcycle jackets, and the label’s signature "inside out tutus" in the new collection. Denise Allen Robinson, founder and head designer of Neesh by D.A.R. said, “My latest Transition & Fall pieces are all about comfort and exploring calm, neutral colors such as pale silver gray and earth tone mud. This is by far the most wearable and adaptable collection that I’ve ever produced.”
The Neesh by D.A.R. crew loves to mix fabrics and textures. Always sure to work with easy, wearable fabrics like “urban whimsy” sweatshirting and pima tencel “yummy knit,” Denise loves to scour the market for hard-to-find gorgeous wovens like silk chiffon and soft crumpled metal. Perhaps most importantly, Denise adores adding special details to her clothes. Every piece is packed with little surprises that reflect the true Neesh by D.A.R. aesthetic: scrunched and gathered fabrics, vintage buttons, exposed seams, grosgrain ribbon trims, flirty peplums, and little tucks make up the true Neesh by D.A.R. look.
Highlights from Transition & Fall 2013 include the “Javert,” a seemingly tough-looking (yet supersoft) motorcycle jacket that’s made out of “leather-like” painted linen. “I love being creative and developing my own fabrics that I can’t find anywhere else,” said Denise. The jacket was designed to be functional: it can be easily scrunched-up, washed in a machine, and pulled out of a dryer.
Denise has also returned to her knitwear roots this season—light and airy sweaters are composed out of pure Peruvian wool matched with Pima cotton sleeves. Each item in the collection is designed and constructed for easy-wear comfort, whether the garment is dressed up or dressed down.
Neesh by D.A.R.’s most recent collection for Transition & Fall 2013 will be carried in more than 380 independent boutiques around the country, in addition to the brand’s e-commerce site (www.neeshbydar.com). This year, Denise will also be rolling out a selection of lifestyle products such as frames, dishtowels, and scarves—all handmade with care and love.
