Needtobreathe, Black Tide, and We Will Rock You come to Des Moines on June 10

Tuesday night in Des Moines there will be three big shows for music fans to enjoy. Here are the details.

We Will Rock You, the musical based on the music of Queen and a book by Ben Elton, will debut at the Des Moines Civic Center tomorrow night. The musical that has thrilled audiences on five continents and won numerous awards will run at the Civic Center from June 10 through June 15. Tomorrow's opening show will start at 7:30 p.m., and good seats are still available. The show will feature performances of Queen favorites like "Another One Bites The Dust", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "We Are the Champions", "Bohemian Rhapsody", the title song, and more. Tickets for the show are available through the Civic Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations for $30 to $99.

Charleston, South Carolina Christian alternative rockers Needtobreathe (see slideshow) will play the Simon Estes Amphitheater as part of the Nitefall on the River summer concert series. Winners of 10 GMA Dove Awards, Needtobreathe released their latest album, Rivers in the Wasteland, in April. The album topped the Alternative, Rock, and Christian charts and climbed to #3 on the Billboard 200. The show will open at 8 p.m. with a performance by Irish alternative folk singer/songwriter Foy Vance. Tickets for the show are $26 in advance and $31 the day of the show through Ticketfly.

Finally, Miami heavy metal band Black Tide will stop at Wooly's in Des Moines' East Village Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. show that will also see Threat Signal, Affiance, Hatchet, Hollowpoint, Through the Darkness, and Chasing Silence take the stage. Black Tide got their start in 2004, and they have two Top 25 rock singles to their credit, "Shockwave" (featured video) and "That Fire". The band released a new EP entitled Bite the Bullet last November. Tickets for the all ages show are $16 in advance and $20 the day of the show through the Wooly's box office and Ticketfly.
