In an effort to stay on top of what is current in regard to powerful and stylish handheld communication devices, and to actually possess a phone that would work with another product that is currently being tested, I recently acquired a 64GB HTC One. Since such hardware is by no means cheap, it only made sense to wrap it in something that would do a good job of protecting it. The search for such protection didn’t take long, and I decided to go with the #1 most trusted brand of smartphone case. Basically, as soon as I saw the Commuter by OtterBox, with its electric green polycarbonate shell and dark blue silicone inner layer, I knew I found what I was looking for.
This case, a rather slim model in comparison to some OtterBox cases, though not waterproof, looks like it is everything but. OtterBox worked closely with HTC to design a form-fitting case that should work flawlessly with the various buttons and ports of the handset, and based on first impressions, it looks like they’ve done a great job. This handsome case features:
- a contoured hard shell that is slick enough to slide in and out of your pocket
- flexible hinged silicone doors and tabs that provide access to all ports
- holes for both microphones, the camera and flash
- a clear, self-adhering screen protector
- inner silicone layer for impact absorption
