Christmas Day is almost here! Are you finished with all of your shopping? Or do you have a few last minute gifts to buy? Wagging Tails Thrift Shop is a great "full-service" place to shop. You should be able to find the perfect gift for just about anyone on your list. And when you purchase a gift for yourself or someone else, you will also be helping the homeless pets that reside at the Montgomery County Humane Society.

Wagging Tails is in "Full Holiday Mode" which means "lots of vintage Christmas merchandise, themed Christmas trees, and new arrivals coming in every day". In addition, there will be a large variety of jewelry, clothing, household items, and books. You can shop for your pet, your friends and family; and if you are a seasoned thrift shop treasure-hunter, you may even find a thing or two for yourself!

Wagging Tails is right around the corner from the MCHS: 1310 East Gude Drive, Rockville, MD. For further information call: 301-279-0345.

And if the holiday season reminds you of what you are thankful for, and the joy of giving, then why not donate to Wagging Tails? Everything you donate is tax-deductible; and you will be helping all of the homeless pets residing at the Montgomery County Humane Society. Here are some of the items Wagging Tails can accept: Appliances, Books, Clothing, Computer Equipment, Electronics, Furniture, Household Items, Jewelry, Linens, Pet Items, Toys; and miscellaneous items such as: bicycles, briefcases, canes, CD's, cell phones, collectibles, craft supplies, videotapes, DVD's, eyeglasses, golf clubs, ice skates, luggage, office equipment, purses, records (LP's and 45's), tap dance shoes, toiletries, totes, unused candles, unopened and non-expired food, wicker baskets.

When you have spent your shopping budget at Wagging Tails, be sure to stop by the shelter to spread some "holiday cheer" by visiting among the homeless pets that probably won't be enjoying the holidays with a family this year. December 22 is the volunteers "Holiday With The Dogs" Celebration, which includes donated gifts for all the shelter dogs! (And it's never too late to donate.) The shelter is just around the corner from Wagging Tails! Even if you don't plan on adopting this holiday season, it's always a good thing for the homeless pets to engage with people. This helps them to hone up on their "people-skills" so when that perfect person comes around offering a "forever home" to a homeless pet, they will be ready and able to rise to the occasion.

Have a Joyfull Chanukah; a Merry Christmas; and Happy, Healthy New Year! And while your're at it, help all homeless animals by choosing 2012 as the year you consider adopting a homeless pet! Every homeless pet adopted, is a life saved!
