It’s time to order that absentee ballot.

Ballots for the 14 February 2012 election in Washita County may be requested as late as 8 February 2012, but Leah Jones, Secretary, Washita County Election Board, advises voters to request an absentee ballot as soon as possible.

Absentee ballots are available at the county elections office or may be downloaded from www.elections.ok.gov.

Absentee ballots must be in the hands of the county elections board by 7:00 pm on Election Day.  Jones noted, that any registered voter may request an absentee ballot with or without a reason; however, it is the voter’s responsibility to make sure their registration information is correct and they reside within the geographical boundaries of a school district or municipality.
