Designer Rocco Barocco had women sporting masculine neckties with their pretty floral skirts on the runway at his ROCCOBAROCCO Fall 2013 fashion show during Milan Fashion Week Womenswear Fall/Winter 2013/14 on February 22, 2013 in Milan, Italy.
It’s a trend that seems to be catching on fast and furious – both suits and neckties on women, clearly inspired by Menswear.
However, Rocco Barocco is being unique in accessorizing feminine ensembles with neckties, such as a very feminine flouncy charcoal grey floral skirt is teamed with a matching brocade gunmetal grey tie, a crisp white shirt and a black leather jacket!
Alternatively, a femininely cut charcoal grey suit with floral motif is teamed with a crisp white shirt and the same brocade tie.
The charcoal grey coat with three black buttons and brocade lapels and cuffs is also Menswear inspired with its long sleek lines – again, accessorized with the grey tie! It seems that the necktie ties the entire collection together…
The necktie is however replaced with a ribbon tied as a bow, Colonel Sanders style, which accessorizes a charcoal grey pinstriped suit.
Other pieces worthy of mention in this mostly grey collection from ROCCOBAROCCO Fall 2013 include a lovely silvery grey pleated skirt (love the lace embellished top as well), ombré shaded tops and lace inset pieces.
More colorful numbers include a jade green sheath with brocade waist band, a coral dress with brocade at the neckline and a cobalt blue one-shoulder gown with floral appliqué.
The necktie has certainly become a sexy accessory for women! Nicely done Rocco Barocco for your Fall 2013 collection!
