"Nearlyweds" is a Hallmark Original Movie premiering on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 (9 p.m. ET/PT, 8 C). The romantic comedy stars Naomi Judd, Danielle Panabaker, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Britt Irvin, Ryan Kennedy, Travis Milne and Steve Bacic, according to press information from Hallmark Channel.

"Nearlyweds" is about three best friends who had June weddings within weeks of each other. The honeymoon phase is over when they are notified that the pastor that performed their weddings had died and their marriage licenses were never signed. Therefore, they were never legally married, and were nearlyweds instead of newlyweds. The women are faced with the challenge of informing their husbands that they are not really married.

Danielle Panabaker (“Beverly Lewis’ The Shunning”) stars as a new bride who deals with a rocky path in her almost marriage, fueled largely by her monster-in-law, Renee played by Grammy® Award-winning country music superstar Naomi Judd (“The Killing Game”).

The romantic comedy is based on award-winning author Beth Kendrick’s novel, Nearlyweds and also stars Jessica Parker Kennedy (“The Secret Circle”), Britt Irvin (“The Vow”), Ryan Kennedy (“Hannah’s Law”), Travis Milne (“Rookie Blue”) and Steve Bacic (“Big Love”).

When Erin (Danielle Panabaker), Casey (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Stella (Britt Irvin) discover that they were not legally married, they reassess their relationships with their new nearly husbands. Erin finds herself competing with mother-in-law Renee (Naomi Judd) for the loyalty of David (Ryan Kennedy), Casey questions Nick’s (Travis Milne) commitment, and Stella deals with balancing her desire for a career with Mark’s (Steve Bacic) expectation for a stay at home wife.

The friends have found that marriage is not all they dreamed it would be. Upon finding that they are not really really married, they take a good, long look and their lives and mates and decide whether they will walk down the aisle again or walk out the door and start over.

Erin, a busy intern, finds herself in competition with her mother-in-law, Renee, who moves in with them and shows no signs of leaving. Renee is not above employing dramatic tactics to distract her son, David, from paying attention to his new wife.

Stella has a chance at her dream career, but Mark dreams of a traditional stay at home wife and children. Can the couple overcome their differing goals and have a happy marriage?

In the meantime, Stella takes care of a rescue dog and runs into a man called "Mr. Hunky."

Casey, the owner of a bakery for dogs, feels that Nick neglects her and romance in general. Worse, he hires his former flame as his assistant.

American icon, New York Times best-selling author and country music superstar, Naomi
Judd, who has sold over 20 million records and earned six Grammys® in her highly-successful music career, proudly returns to Hallmark Channel since hosting “Naomi’s New Morning” to star in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Nearlyweds.”

“Nearlyweds” is a Pitchblack Pictures production in association with Wonderfly Films.
William R. Greenblatt, Shawn Williamson and Kat Green are the executive producers. Jamie Goehring is the producer. Mark Griffiths directed from a script by Aury Wallington, adapted from the novel Nearlyweds by award-winning author, Beth Kendrick.
